She knocks at the door. I open. It’s either Saturday and I come to the atelier just for her, or late in the evening, sometimes at a lunch break. She knows what she wants, either she looked at the site because she did not have time to attend the Second Skin party, or in a couple of seconds, looking at the collection, she knows what she wants. She leaves in 10 minutes with 3 Second Skin boxes. The next day she is ordering by phone some items that she did not buy when she came, for her or for her friends. I deliver late at night in a restaurant when she is having dinner, the only times both me and her are free and the traffic is not a nightmare. When I can, I deliver in person. Sometimes she has free time and the 20 minutes coffee became 2 hours of intense talks about different self-development topics. I see her necked, I know what she thinks about her body because she tells me when she chooses, while I sit silently admiring her, I see her sometimes without make up, the success does not need a make-up face. I meet her sometimes by chance in the city wearing Second Skin and I am so proud, she looks amazing, she turns all the heads in her obviously different outfit, not eccentric, only herself shining out. Socially she is powerful, deep inside she is fragile and has unfulfilled dreams like all of us. I understand her, and this gives me fuel to further create something even more interesting and useful in which she could express another (beautiful) face of herself.
I understand know why and how men fall in love, because I create for women, for “she”, I pay attention, I admire the fragile, the powerful, the mother, the woman that appears with more shine in the mother, so grateful, so fascinating – in the honored occasions when I meet “her” personally. This is my fuel to create. Sometimes I need music to know who I am. Give me your music!
In my dreams I would escalade mountains and in the end of the trip would swim into the sea.Universe made this real for me.
The summer vacation was in an idyllic place, in a country that cooks with passion and live with passion, all these in a lightness an easiness that is felt into the pores. Having all these a light rain is a breeze of freshness, a hot sun is an opportunity to let yourself be surrounded with warmth – how much can you stand this? Until a cloud comes easily on the sky and lets you breathe as if it knew how you feel, and gives you a break.
I climbed stairs upon the sea and reached a place where I rang a bell 3 times to make my wish come true.
Because I created Second Skin Clothing first of all for myself, I used in my vacation a couple of items from the new collection: AB Shirt that matched my mini blue jeans skirt at the beach in Xiraco, Comfy Trousers for the slow rain or chilly mornings in San Sebastian and Biju Floral dress to a pool party near Valencia and at the terraces and restaurants during the daytimes or night times in the North of Spain.I still have affinity for the first Second Skin dress made of lyocell, Wrap me that is sold out now and still have requests for it in which I went to a flamenco concert on the beach under the full moon in Xiraco. Coltea dress in beige sand were suitable for the hip jazz environment in the evening in San Sebastian, surrounded by surfers and good-life living persons. Because we travelled for 2000km I had to pack wisely my luggage, so it could be light and the items to match a temperature between 18 and 35 degrees, onion-style. I wish I could have more of the items with me just for variety and the feeling that I got when Second Skin Clothing creations were admired. But they were enough for the days, and enough to point out from inside the second skin sensation.
I am back in Bucharest and I wait for you to try the second skin sensation yourself.
At the show room you have guaranteed a 10% discount at any item and the possibility to win a professional photo-session with hair, make up and styling included in an item that suits you best from our collection at the beginning of October.

I look at the new collection, standing in the show-room, on the sofa, near the stander with rolls, in the middle of the room.
I see the 14 items on the black velvet hangers and I cannot believe the process I passed in the last 3 months, that these few items required.
It started with some sketches, easy to make- by me or by the designers in the team, selected on a process last winter. A great small team with Dalia Lopez and Adriana Goilav. Pattern making: meetings in the mall, meetings with designers, more adjustments in the factories – not only for sizes. Samples made with substitute textiles bought by me from Spain in a weekend vacation. Lacking time and suitable options, I decide to buy final from Istanbul, a recommended place.
I land directly to Premiere Vision Istanbul and I take in the Dacia Duster taxi a pre-ordered roll, 25kg, 1,80m.
Follow 3 days of walking on the streets with men-sellers, in the mainstream area of Istanbul. A Turkish girl recommends me to go to the hotel before sunset. Next day I go with my boyfriend, who landed that night and sacrificed his weekend to be my assistant-counselor and carrier. 30euro/meter silk? OMG, I cannot afford a business on that price, it must be imported from Italy. Search, search, search. Feet hurt. I finally find the items necessary in a corner of a shop in a semi-basement, decent price, totally not negotiable. Drink a lot of Turkish tea waiting for the van-taxi to take us and the 5 rolls of textiles home.
Way back home in 2 different planes (it was a whole mess with the tickets), each had 2 packages of rolls, pre-confirmed to be transported with no problems by Tarom and Turkish Airlines. I sleep at a hotel near by the airport the next day. I pack for 1 hour the rolls in black garbage plastic and buy scotch to glue it in the airport at the advice of my boyfriend who’s textiles were stuck in customs one night before.
My textiles pass the border the following day, same conditions.
1 whole week, with all the relations and legal documents made, was needed to get out his/mine textiles from the customs, extra money paid allover. Some tears also because of helplessness and the system, many hours in the car to one office to another.
Many roads to Buzau factory and Fundeni factory. Samples and adjustments on the textiles. Some extra textiles bought in Bucharest to suit the colours.
Choose threads to suit textiles for woven details.
Micro-buses transporting samples in the same day or final products for the shooting. I wait in the same line with people who wait for food from their mom and open the boxes at home.
Shooting, prices, real models for authenticity, my friends.
One model resigned. Some photos re-done in Spain in the weekend that we visited our niece, with me as a substitute-model, my boyfriend photographer.
I upload on a Saturday night while my boyfriend sleeps the photos on the site.
I have an amazing making off. Amazing team looking back, amazing boyfriend caring dresses allover now at my events. Before I did it all alone with my “mini-van” as I call my C30.
And the work of promoting and selling has just started!
I question: why do I feel the need to create and start something new in which I believe in? Passion without reason is stupidity. Passion with reason is inspiration.
I chose to inspire you, to look beautiful! To feel that you deserve quality and quality of touch, quality of creativity. Clothes with soul, many souls with passion inside.
I challenge my friends to tell me when I am stupid.
The commercial variant :):
Yesterday I felt the need to have peonies, they looked amazing in the flower market, all fresh, all new.
Only when my boyfriend tried to rationalise my choice and understand why I like so much these flowers that do not say anything to him I realised why I like them. This is what I see in them: a vivid process full of live of evolution. I am fascinated by step by step (very fast) bloosom, their scent makes me sourrender and their delicate nature is lost in opulence of whole flower.
Fragile and easy-going, they are in the same time heavy and with dignity. If they blosoom, and they all do almost, they do it totally, passionately, with the diffrent power and way of every flower.
I held them in my hands at church today, they were mature young flowers, yesterday babies.
It was Ascending of Christ Celebration. They represent also a kind of fulfilling of mission, and they blosoom together with this Orthodox Celebration.
For the firt time my ears heard in ceremony “we pray for liberty and dignity”.
Liberty of expressing oneself, I might complete, and lack of (self)judgement for it.
I am a peony: oriented towards action with fast result, hedonist, fragile in substance but with heavy appearance, vivid and passional. I am near other peonies.
I beleive in freedom of expression, in standing for oneself because nobody else will do it for you, I avoid clichees, prejudists. I look for essence in myself, where the sense of reality lies.
It is what I try to put in Second Skin Clothing.
Are we identified when we choose clothing as I am identified with my favorite flowers (this spring)? They are also always “fashionable”.
And this is how we did it:
Thank you Vald for the montage!

Hope you will enjoy our work!
9 luni + 2 luni = 11 luni x4 = 44 purtari.
I rest my case.
Va pup. Bucurati-va de voi insiva in imbracaminte. www.secondskin.me
The new 2015 spring-summer collection is ready.
The same ritual ongoing: wearing the samples for 1 week, giving feedback to patternmakers, than to the factory, adjusting, changing for the sake of comfort and good look.
I was spoiled this period, because I realised how much my emotional state is related to wearing new things. I feel optimism when I wear something I like and suits me. It puts me in a new light, first of all in my own eyes. I feel special, attractive and different wearing for example the dresses made of rayon that are so soft and are cut so courageously, or the tie-skirt that amazed everybody at a conference. I like the little details that make the story of the dress: the sunset, the beach, all in an urban sight, or the other rayon dress created by by Adriana Goilav, one of the guest designers that created based on Second Skin’s brief of: comfort, versatility, feminity. Wearing Dalia Lopez, the other guest designer, gave me the freedom to move, to eat whatever I like without an external visible effect, to move all day and even now writing this post in the evening I still have the dress designed by her on, no marks, 100% freedom.
I feel encouraged, I feel enthusiasm and I hope you will wear my collection with the same feelings I experiment now.
Welcome spring, I welcome you!

This is a frequent question I hear when women, but also men, find out that the dress “Protect me softly” is made from it in combination with polyester and “Powdered Chameleonic Spice” in combination with cotton . Basically, it is processed bio-based textile made from reconstituted cellulose. It is very soft. In many ways it acts like cotton, but also have significant advantages over cotton. It is smooth, breathes well and does not require much ironing (what a bless). It is cool to the touch and very absorbent, does not shrink, drapes well and keeps its shape even in the rain. Usually it is produced to be combined with other fibers, like cotton or polyester, but also it can be found pure in some sports wear or blouses. It is developed by Lenzing, Austria, trade mark.
Tip: Usually I wash by hand this dress, though it can be put at washing machine too at 30 degrees, I shake it well after washing and let it dry on the hanger. So I can use it the next day without irining or with very little ironing in one part or two for a perfect aspect.
I enjoy its touch and the freedom it provides to me, I accessorize it with long impressive necklaces because I like them or with wide bracelet& long earings, boots or low heeled shoes in any color. Monica.
Perfect for a Valentine’s gift to yourself.
Simplicity. Do we fear simple things?
Are we capable of glowing for what we are? Maybe we don’t know that we can – an open question.
People mention Audrey Hepburn as a symbol of elegance: her simple dresses, no print, emphasized eyes and sometimes a hat, the only thing that stands out, though usual for that time. “But she was someone” , you might argue. Or was she someone because of who she was inside? I wonder sometimes if she wore that jewelry if she hadn’t played in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”.
I don’t have in mind her body, breasts or legs. But I remember some dresses. Whatever she wore became an icon in clothing.
Everybody has her natural beauty, natural style. Could you make a try and stand out for what you are? Do you still know how to recognize and evaluate quality and simplicity? Do we need an icon of a famous person to “wear” simplicity to come back to these values? Do we need to make an attempt to designers to change to that? When is the last time you asked yourself “WHY do I wear that”, like your child, with simple innocence?
Social masks, social beauty masks (make up, “item/famous brand” clothing) are sometimes necessary. But could we hold on to something that we are and at least shyly expose it; could we have a clue of what we really are? Remember once a dear one told you how beautiful you are without make up one morning?
Wearing a Second Skin Clothing dress might pull out of you your inner beauty. Try that, you may be surprised.
Standing out needs courage, are you courageous enough not to show off ?
This month Second Skin Clothing had the pleasure to work with Alina Puscas. I want to write this post because some women think they must have an amazing body, to hide imperfections to “look like that”.
I tell you a thing that you may not believe. You might not be ready to accept, you might fight against it. You may hate me too. Because you know it deep inside, but you don’t want to accept it.
The secret in looking like is is accepting yourself. Is as simple as that.
Accepting yourself does many miracles: you may loose weight, you may have a different motivation, you may look very good even with extra sized hips – I know women that may move mountains with a smile and bigger than norm hips, or an out of norm figure. The secret is inside, than outside follows.
Accept good things for yourself. How could the good things enter your life if it is already occupied with bad things? You deserve good, you deserve quality.
Being comfortable with yourself, being comfortable in your own skin, looks like this. Alina is a very normal woman, a woman like any other, with difficulties and opportunities in life. She is now a TV presenter, but only she knows how hard work she does and she did in her life.
Things are not as they look like- funny words to be written by a clothing brand , right?
Accepting yourself is not simple.
Is not about your hips, belly or whatever else you think you need! You are not (just) a mask.
Dare to share a bit from yourself with yourself and others these holidays, you may surprise yourself and others!
Second Skin Clothing is reccomended on www.eva.ro Thank you Eva.ro, for noticing us and publishing us!
This winter we wish to bring comfort, cozyness and warm hugs in your life!
Second Skin Clothing reveals to you its intimacy, stories and facts. Oana Bulzan, a curious and intelligent journalist asks about a lot of things :).
One day I receive an email from Revista Atelierul, inviting me to apply for the exhibition. I liked the approach becasue they asked a presentation of the brand, so I reviewd Second Skin Clothing presentation for them, on short, happy to be asked what Second Skin Clothing is. I will attach it here for the curious people which I hope there will be :). With this occasion I reviewd the concept and I put my energy there to build further, with the help of other people to which I learn to open myself to and for. So, I look forward for tomorrow to meet exciting people, designers and other friends.
Tomorrow, between 7pm and 4am, at French Institute, I will be there to chat, get inspired and build with you.
This week I was asked some more things too, Second Skin story and what is the relation between being a woman and being an antrepreneur. I did my best to answer, so you can find all these here.

Fashionurbia has written about Second Skin after one of the editors has attended the launch of Second Skin Clothing in December in Aiurart Gallery. Here it is:
